PROSYS LAUNCHES THE ULTRAPROBE™ A CAVITATION METROLOGY TOOL DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR ULTRASONIC CLEANING

The ProSys UltraProbeTM gives process and yield enhancement engineers better data on what exactly is affecting the cleaning process in an Ultrasonics bath. The new UltraProbe is constructed with 316L Stainless Steel to withstand the rigors of high power low frequency cleaning.

San Francisco, CA July 12, 2004 - ProSys Inc., the leader in advancing Megasonic transducer technology and products, today unveiled the ProSys UltraProbe Cavitation Probe line of Metrology products.

"With the need to measure actual Sonoluminescence Cavitation output in the cleaning baths, the Metrology Probe needs to be fully portable and clean room compatible. While lab work has proven the need for Cavitation uniformity, a tool like the UltraProbe is essential to monitor the actual production cleaning processes." said Mark Beck, Founder and CEO of ProSys. "Detecting and monitoring Cavitation density in Ultrasonic baths will be key to process improvement and cost reduction."

About the ProSys UltraProbe

The ProSys UltraProbe uses a light tight cell that allows the process bath chemistry to flow through. Sensors detect the Sonoluminescence output of the fluid in the cell as the cell is moved around in the bath. The Sonoluminescence is a by-product of acoustic power applied to a cleaning chemistry, but the light output is a function on many process fluid properties that cannot be detected by measuring power alone.

SL activity changes with chemistry concentration, viscosity, temperature, nucleation site type and concentration, and basic bath geometry.

The advanced software operating on the PC or PDA give the process engineer immediate knowledge of cleaning bath changes.
